Rutland’s 25th Annual Fall Festival will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009.
Demonstrations and sale of ethnic foods starts at 11:00 a.m. - Krumkake, rosettes, fattigman, lefse, rice pudding, rommegrot, abelskivers, Uffda tacos and brats for sale.
Scalloped potatoes with ham and other Scandinavian food will be served at City Hall from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A benefit is being held for Hal Nelson who is returning home to Rutland after several months in the HCMC Burn Unit, Minneapolis, following a home explosion in October 2008. A silent and live auction and free-will dinner is being held. Items up for bid include We Fest 2010 passes, Medora Musical (2) passes, handmade quilts, guns, fishing gear, and more.

Rutland’s Memorial Day activities will begin on Monday, May 25th at 10 A.M. with services at the East Cemetary followed by services at the Rutland Town Cemetary at 10:15 A.M. The Bergman/Evenson Post #215 of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary will conduct these activities.
