Community Play
Diane Smith and Pam Maloney are reviewing videos of Laugh-In to select skits for the community play on March 21.  Several cast members have already been selected as residents are volunteering for the roles.  Skits may include the Fickle Feet Award and the Farkel Family.

Bylaws
Bert reported that the RCC bylaws are being reviewed and should be ready at the March meeting.  At this time, Hilary and Jeff are reviewing them.  The bylaws have not been modified since the 1970s and many provisions are obsolete.

Pinochle
The Pinochle tournament will be held this coming weekend.  Members present discussed the meal cost and agreed that $7.00 or $7.50 would be appropriate.

Bingo
Carolyn reported that bingo is being held at the Nordland Parish Hall rather than at the Senior Center this year.  It was suggested that all advertising note that this is sponsored by RCC and is not a church-sponsored activity.

Carolyn said the blackout was won last week and the $110.00 was paid out.  She noted that bingo is not a ‘moneymaker’ but is an activity for residents.

Remodeling/Renovation
Bert informed the members that the City Council does not want to take a loan of $80,000 for City Hall renovations.  She said that since the City owns the Hall and RCC does not, then the City must take out any loan.  The Council asked what grant sources are available for the project.  She said that a new furnace is needed and that could be funded through a bond issue.  A new furnace is a necessity according to the heating contractor.  She has called Lake Agassiz Council and the League of Cities to obtain information.

Kathy said the RCC Board, the City Council and the RCC bathroom committee need to meet to discuss this project and the funding.  She noted that the project costs have doubled since this process began more than a year ago.

Bert said if Council support is lacking then the project will not happen.

Doris reported that the City will receive between $2-6,000 from the County in February and March.  It would be an opportune time to meet with the Council.

Fire Department
It was reported that the Sargent County Ambulance fundraising breakfast garnered about $5200 toward the cost of a new ambulance.

Kathy/Renee moved and seconded that the RCC contribute $300.00 toward the cost of the Sargent County ambulance.  Motion carried.

RCC Board
Debra reported that the officer elections will be held at the next meeting.  Individuals willing to serve on the Board include Vicky Hausler and Shawna McKinney.

Advertising
Deborah reported that a member of the Horizons Advertising Committee had agreed to develop a “welcome wagon” type of brochure and another for tourists.  She is not aware of the progress on that but she will check on the status.

Debra said she is getting quotes on road signage outside of town.

Debra requested that the Rutland ND website provide business links.  Deborah said that the advertising costs and related items are yet to be established.

It was suggested that souvenir trinkets be printed and sold in Rutland for tourists and visitors.

Uffda Day
Carolyn said this will be the 25thUffda Day Celebration and asked for ideas for some special celebration or event to highlight the milestone.

Kathy said better grade T-shirts or sweatshirts need to be ordered earlier and be available for purchase sooner.

Bert said cookbooks are still available for sale.

Deborah said she will get a “teaser” on the website along with purchase information in an attempt to increase sales outside of town.

Ideas for Uffda Days will be solicited at the March meeting.

Renee/Joanne moved for adjournment.  Motion carried.
