Rutland was established in 1886 and incorporated on June 29, 1908. The residents of the City of Rutland passed the Home Rule Charter for the City on November 30, 2010.

The City Council meets on the first Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Residents are welcome to attend the meetings. Time is reserved on the agenda at the beginning of the meeting for public comments, questions or concerns. No other public participation is permitted unless recognized by the Mayor or Chair of the meeting.

Water Quality Reports
The Consumer Confidence Report is published annually and available to the public by July 1st. This is a report of our community’s drinking water supply as required by the EPA and North Dakota Health Dept. If you are unable to read or print the document, you may contact the City Auditor at 701-724-3081 to have a print copy mailed directly to you.
