Business and Community Services

Rutland has about 25 service and retail businesses within its boundaries. In addition there are several civic and community organizations that are very active in the community.

The Rutland Community Development Corporation was established in 1976 to assist and encourage new and existing business development in the Rutland community.

School

Elementary and High School education is provided by an excellent consolidated school system at Sargent Central in Forman and is affiliated with Oakes Area Vocational School including ITV for high school, and adult students.

Fire

The Rutland-Cayuga Fire District boasts a 25 member, all volunteer fire department to protect the city and nearby communities.
